TheLatent Semantic Indexing (LSI) looks like a complicated concept at a first glance but, in truth, it’s a very simple thing. The only problem is that this is the kind of name nerds like those at Goggle like to come up with.
In my words: It’s the process Goggle uses to index info, (not just referring to the key-words.)

Google offers us a lot of tools to guess how the key-words are being related. Here’s an example: quan you search a word in the search slot and click on the “search tools” button you’ve got several options to see how they related and give meanign to each word. Another example: they use a dictinoary when it comes to related searches.
As we’ve already explained, latent semantic indexing discovers the words and phrases related at a semantic level which allow the search engines to find the content relevant for any search word. With a fitting content optimization strategy, it helps Google on its process of Semantic Indexing to promote the contents’ relevance. Depending on other optimization techniques then it’s important to prepare the conetnt which your site has so that Google relates and offers your site for different key-words in the results of the search.
That’s why it’s important to define from the start what would be the content strategy of a website since it’ll mark the results in the time spent searching. Taking that into account it’d be hard to position using the word “chess” if your web’s about “press”.
